There’s NO WAY that’s going to happen on Monday’s “The Bachelorette!!!”

For the first time in “Bachelorette” history, they’re breaking ALL of the rules!  Tune in for Monday’s episode to see the most dramatic show EVER.

We all know that Kaitlyn has a taste for the wild side.  Well Monday night it may just go TOO FAR!  For the first time in “Bachelorette” history they will be airing a two-on-one overnight!!!  Can you believe this?  How could the show let things go this far?

Kaitlyn has got to learn to control her hormones.  She just HAS to bring two men into her fantasy suite at one time!  The problem is, they’re not only hot for her, but they’re hot for each other.  Yes, it’s true, but don’t tell anyone, it will be Nick and Shawn together!  I know, it’s insane.  No one knows WHAT will happen!

We all know that Kaitlyn has a love affair with the strange and unusual, and this encounter just may top all of her prior group dates, put together.  And they’re letting the cameras roll people, for the whole thing!  You just have to pay extra to watch the best parts on cable later that night.

Who do you think will perform to Kaitlyn’s best expectations?!  Will it be Nick, the Chicago underdog whom so many people love to hate?  Or will it be Shawn, the guy everybody was rooting for, until he got REALLY annoying?!  Stay tuned here to find out.  It’s ALL GOING TO BE SO INSANE I CAN’T STAND IT!

Kaitlyn makes all of the Big Boys Cry :(

So what happened on tonight’s episode of “The Bachelorette?”

I think that the most important thing that we see on tonight’s episode is that Kaitlyn has learned her lesson.  Sleeping with Nick, while clearly enjoyable for both of them, put her in an uncomfortable position with her other ongoing relationships.  She feels upset about that, and realizes that it wasn’t the best idea.  She realizes that it might compromise what she is building with the other men for the long-term.

Interestingly enough, though, it was an off-camera talk that she apparently had with Shawn that really caused her the most angst.  We learn from Shawn that she told him that he was pretty much “the one” for her.  Tonight she said that she did it in an attempt to make him feel less stressed out about the whole process.  She didn’t realize that he took her words so much to heart, and that put her in an awkward position.

She still has real feelings for the other guys and because of that she realized she shouldn’t have said that to Shawn.  So on tonight’s episode Kaitlyn tried to back-peddle her relationship with Shawn, slowing things down.   I’m not sure that it worked.  She wasn’t the clearest communicator but it seems like he got the message.  In the end, the whole thing really just made Shawn more stressed out than he already was!  Oh well, this is a great lesson for everyone.  Think about the impact of what you say and do before you say or do it.  You just might be saving yourself and others lots of upset if you do.

I think tonight also answered a lot of questions about Nick.  When Kaitlyn talked to him about keeping their private time private because she has been worried that the other guys will find out, he was upset because he is a classy guy and had no intentions of going around telling anyone about it.  His honest feelings came through when they were talking, as his eyes welled up with tears.  He had some difficultly speaking at times too.  He seems to be sincerely interested in a real relationship with her, and not a guy who just plays around.

So after delving into all of these intense relationship feelings, the show finally got around to a new date at the END of the show!  Boy, they’re really playing around with the show’s format this season.

It’s a one-on-one date and Kaitlyn flies Cupcake off over the ocean in a helicopter to some cool Irish cliffs where they have a romantic picnic lunch overlooking the expansive sea.  It was pretty awesome, until Kaitlyn opened up to Cupcake that it was over, she just wasn’t feeling it.  Like so many of us, she couldn’t move forward with someone, no matter how great he was, if the feelings just weren’t there for her.  So she let him go, crying because it was so hard for her.

She took off in her private helicopter, leaving him there with their picnic basket and blanket, and he breaks down sobbing.  Poor guy 😦  Then they suddenly show him standing at the very edge of the cliffs, um, YIKES!!  One of the crew members moves towards him as if they are going to grab him back, and just then he steps back away from the edge on his own.  Geez, too scary dude.  Good thing there wasn’t an updraft.  Always be safe.

Back to Bachelorette business.  We learn that for the rest of the season, there are going to be some big changes.  Chris Harrison tells Kaitlyn that next week she is supposed to have sex with three different men.  Oh wait, he didn’t exactly say that, did he?  Well, that’s how it came across for some reason…

So next week she will have “intimate time” with three of the guys, the other three will be gone before that.  Then out of the three remaining, she picks only two to go to their homes and meet their families.  It’s weird that they’re changing it up like that all of a sudden, I wonder why?

Also weird is that Chris Harrison suddenly returned to the show today.  Where has this dude been?  He looks healthy, so it’s probably not that he’s been sick, which is good.  I heard that he got divorced, so maybe it’s something to do with that.  At first I thought that they were going to replace him with someone else, maybe someone younger and hotter?  I guess we’ll see.

The other really weird thing is that Chris Harrison is shown telling Kaitlyn that she should tell the other guys about her having had sex with Nick.  At least this is what it seems he is saying.  No one would advise her to do that in their right mind!  That seems so strange.  I’ll bet that it’s not what he’s really trying to do, and they’re just editing it to look like that, because if he is, then that is SO FAKE.  🙂

I’ll end with this, the funniest part of tonight’s episode was actually the commercial for “Bachelor in Paradise.”  If you missed it, try and google it.  It shows Claire and a raccoon having a conversation; it totally made me laugh!  See you soon guys!  For those of you who love to laugh, check out this parody of “The Bachelorette!”

Is Nick just a PLAYER??

Do you guys think that Nick is playing Kaitlyn?  Or do you think the whole thing is fake and they didn’t really have sex?  It’s sooo hard to be sure, isn’t it?  Nick did seem to be a bit fake when he was with her in her room, saying certain things to maybe move her in the direction of sleeping with him.  They even showed him doing a bit of that with her in the bar; it was hard to tell if he was for real or just trying to get her to sleep with him.  She is a grown woman and can make her own decisions, so I don’t fault her for those, but there certainly are plenty of men (and women too) out there who lie to get sex.  It’s pretty creepy, and sadly desperate.

If that’s the case, as a few of you have suggested, then what do you think will happen next?  Will he turn into a creepy jerk and blow her off?  Will he hang around until he gets more exposure (like until she votes him off, if that happens), or will he take off now that he’s gotten what he wanted?

I’m curious to know what you think.  I think as ladies we’ve all probably had our unfair share of creeps, losers, and jerks.  Let’s share our wisdom with others in the comments!

SEX on “The Bachelorette?!” NEVER!

Now that Nick is back on “The Bachelorette,” and is generating a lot of controversy, I was searching around to learn more about him.  I remembered that he had mentioned that he and “his” bachelorette, Andi, had had sex while on the show.  A lot of people found it distasteful that he had revealed that information.  I found this great blog post that he wrote about the whole thing.

You should all check it out, he seems like a great guy.  Of course, people can say anything and we can’t really tell for sure until we get to know someone what they are really like.  But I think this information is good to know, take a look and let me know what you think.

I also wanted to add that what Nick says about Andi just gives more evidence to the concern that “his” bachelorette Andi has some serious mental health issues.  She is very self-centered, overly dramatic, loves attention and seems to take no responsibility for her own actions.  She loves to push the blame for her negative actions onto others.  Those are all signs of someone with a personality disorder, like histrionic, narcissistic, or others.  Andi would likely benefit from some counseling, she’s smart and she might be able to grow if she decides that she wants to become a better person.

I think it’s good that Nick didn’t get stuck in a nasty relationship with someone like Andi.  She’s beautiful, on the outside, but she certainly isn’t worth it.  I wish good luck to Nick, and to Andi’s ex-fiancé Josh Murray.

One more guy…

Wow this girl gets it all, she’s a TV star, she has tons of men vying for her attention, she gets to experience world travel, and now, she gets to date one more guy, and he’s a hot one.

After the season is well-underway, suddenly Nick from a prior season shows up, telling Kaitlyn he’s all into her.  Apparently they’ve been texting for a while now, but have never talked on the phone or met in person (weird?).  When Nick shows up in front of her, it doesn’t take Kaitlyn-the-kisser long to do what she does best, make out with the guy.

Now, he is really good looking, so it’s hard to blame her for making that move!  It looks like they’re having a pretty good time together.  But then Kaitlyn has to make a BIG decision.

She can’t seem to shake that feeling that he is one of the ones for her!  So she has to decide, geez, should I let him stay around and compete for my “love?”  After much thought (well maybe one night’s worth), she decides, heck ya! he’s here to stay.

It’s pretty hard to argue with that decision, I mean didn’t you guys SEE how hot they were together?  It’d be hard to say no to that…

So the drama builds, as Kaitlyn-the-kisser’s other victims, holed up in a hotel room, get frustrated that one more man is going to be thrown into the mix.  I mean, they all get along (well mostly), which is kind-of weird, but this NEW GUY, I mean, ew, who wants to deal with one more guy?  At least that’s the sentiment in the hotel room.

The whole situation is weird, I mean, in real life, you’re competing with potentially billions of suitors, so why do you care if one more guy is coming in?

Well, some of the guys said it best, if she REALLY IS into you, then why would she bring in a new guy?  EXACTLY.  Smart guys.  She ISN’T really into you, she likes her options.  I guess she’s a player in her own right, dare I say a female Juan Pablo?  (Ew, yuck, spit, even saying that misogynist’s name makes me cringe!)  No, I don’t think she’s that bad, I do think she’s enjoying the chance to meet and date (and kiss) multiple guys though.

“Bachelorette” Missteps

I thought that the season preview footage that they showed at the end of the this week’s episode of “The Bachelorette” was very disturbing.  It was implying that Kaitlyn had sex with one of the men on the show and that afterwards she felt terrible about it, and basically acted like her life was over.  Wow.  What country is this?  What century?  Disturbing.

This isn’t to say that there is never a reason to be upset about making what you later feel is a bad decision, but their portrayal of the situation took women back 1000 years.

Let’s discuss some basics here.  Human beings are animals.  All creatures exist for one reason only, biologically, and that is to reproduce.  Our entire body and existence is to serve that one purpose, to propagate the species.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with the feelings, drives, desires and actions which lead to that.  It is only through the attempts to control and manipulate the behaviors of others which societies have been enacting for centuries that this becomes so “confusing.”

In summary, when it comes to sex the only thing you need to decide is whether a decision is right for you and anyone else involved, that’s it.  Be safe and plan for what you want out of life, but grown women should not be writhing with horror and regret at having consensual sex, ridiculous.  Sad.  Manipulative.  Controlling.  Misogynistic.  Let’s end that.

Empire Gossip: Last night’s episode, OOoo the Drama!

Ok guys, so what did you think about last night’s episode?  Pretty dramatic huh?  🙂  So much went down…

You know when they showed the preview last week of Cookie and Lucious MAYBE kissing, I was like, oo-ooh, do you think they will?  But then last night…  Haha, ok, well they certainly didn’t hesitate to get back to business now did they?

I think it’s good, sort-of…  It’s obvious that they have a real connection.  But I think it’s also obvious that he really hurt her in the past, and what the hell was that?  So to be letting him back in now, that is probably going to be a big mistake for Cookie in the future.  I mean, he already showed her what he thinks of her while abandoning her for SEVENTEEN YEARS while she was in prison!  Hel-lo girl!

I think a lot of the women out there know it can be hard to let go of that true love from your past, especially if there is real chemistry, even if he was an ass.  But, hopefully as we get older, we grow and learn from those mistakes and don’t let them happen again.  Right girls?  Um, Cookie?

Now on to some BUSINESS!  Does anybody else think it’s obvious that Cookie will be the one who gets to run Empire in the end?  I know, last night kind of made it more obvious, but it has seemed that way to me from day one.  She is IN CHARGE!  She is the smart one, she knows how to handle people, she knows her music and her artists, and she is clearly a great speaker, as we saw in the episode last night.  All good skills to have to run what is really HER company after all.  And let’s face it, not one of her sons has the skills to do it.  Even combined they don’t.

There is one thing that Cookie isn’t good at, and that is trusting the people she should.  That bit last night about Elle really bugged me, in SO many ways.  Elle worked hard to get clean from heroin and then Anika (what a FREAK) dopes her to get at Cookie to make her look bad.  I mean, seriously, SICK.  Felonious-sick.  And when this happens Elle TOLD Cookie she was clean and Cookie could see that she was clean, I mean, you could tell that Elle was on board with staying clean and working hard, so then why did Cookie just turn away from her so easily?  She sticks by “her man” after all of the crap he has pulled, but the person who has worked hard for her and shown her loyalty, Elle, she just blows off in a second?  That kind of bad decision-making might just turn around and bite her.

I hated to see Elle stabbed in the back like that, not only by her supposed supporter, Cookie, but also by Cookie’s damn jealous rival, Anika.  The show made it look like one of the security guards (I think that’s who that was) might have seen what happened, so hopefully it will come to light that Anika is evil, and Elle can get back into the business she is so good at, singing.

And Anika?  Anika needs to go.  To jail.

What Do YOU Think?

So here’s the story.  There are a bunch of us sitting at a table in a popular restaurant having dessert when one of the guys brings up something that happened to him in his dating past, and asks what the women think about what he did and what happened after that.

So as best as I can recall it, he tells us the following story:

I had met this woman and we went on a few dates together.  We were getting along fine and she was in my apartment one day when I played back a message on my answering machine.  I shouldn’t have done that with her there, in retrospect!

It was my wife calling about the divorce we were going through.  I hadn’t told the woman I was dating that I was still married.  It never came up.

My date left after hearing that message.  The next day I opened up my front door and found out that she had come by and left the flowers I had given her recently  outside of my apartment, turned upside down.

So after telling us this story, he turned to us, a questioning look on his face, and asked us what we thought.

“Well,” I told him, “you were still married and you didn’t tell her that.  That comes across as pretty creepy.  You weren’t being honest with her, it was like you were lying to her the whole time.”

Another woman spoke up, agreeing that he should have told her his exact status, as it matters to many women.

Some other opinions were voiced, and it was interesting that some of the people there were only concerned with how SHE responded to his behavior, and not with what HE did to her in the first place.  There were comments about how she shouldn’t have left the flowers there, how could she do such a thing!

One man found it particularly upsetting and shocking that a woman would enter the man’s building and leave the flowers that he gave her outside of his door, upside down, returning them to him, no longer wanted.  He felt that her behavior was some great violation.  He was upset that she was “trespassing,” though I don’t recall any mention of a secure building during the story.  But even if she entered a secure building, she was buzzed in by him or someone else.

I found these responses interesting, to say the least, and very telling about these people’s views on women and their “rights,” as well as men and their behaviors.

Above all, I thought that this woman’s message was clear, “you are a jerk and I don’t want your flowers.”  Personally, I applaud her reaction.  She stood up for herself against what she thought was a violation of her trust, and a lack of respect for her as a person.  She made a statement that she had every right to make, as we all do.

So now I turn to you, ladies and gentlemen, what do YOU think?

Doc’s Corner: Know Your Body, BV and Women’s Health

Ladies, I wanted to talk about your personal health.  I’m writing this to let you know that there is no need to put anything “up there” to clean yourself.  Where?  Your vagina.  Your body takes care of itself, it’s made to keep itself clean.  Anyone who is putting anything up there to “clean” themselves is potentially putting themselves at risk.

I recently read that some women have been putting petroleum jelly up their vaginas.  This stuff, while great for other things, doesn’t belong there.  In the article they found out that people who do this are much more likely to get BV.  What is BV?  It’s that bad fishy smell some women get coming out from their vagina.  It means that the normal healthy environment that exists in the vagina has been messed up by something.  People who end up with this need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics to treat it.  The full name of BV is bacterial vaginosis.

Many women who come in to be treated for this end up getting it over and over again.  This might explain why!  If they keep doing something that isn’t good for their body, then the body reacts.

Also, I know of no evidence that douching is necessary for women, in fact, it is potentially more harmful than anything.  Putting chemicals inside your body in this way isn’t the best idea, unless your doctor recommends it for some reason, and I have never heard of even one doctor who has recommended that.  Like I said, your vagina is made to keep itself clean.

So I wonder if those people who are are using petroleum jelly in their vaginas are doing it to try and provide lubrication during intercourse?  If so, they should try something else that is healthier, like the products made especially for intercourse.  Check out the water-based lubricants at the local drug store, or ask your doctor what products she recommends for this.

Petroleum jelly is something that you never want to use with a condom.  This is because it will react with the condom and can cause it to break or weaken, therefore allowing sperm and infections to possibly get through.  This is true for anything that is oil-based (including butter, cooking oils etc.), so you should not use anything like that with a condom or you are putting yourself at risk.

So there you have it, some good info to know!  Go forth and be happy and healthy.  If you have any questions, make sure to ask your doctor, don’t feel awkward about asking us, it’s what we do.
