Farewell Olivia!

The Bachelor Gossip, framed

Suzanne Coleman

Well ladies, the time has finally come for us to bid dear Olivia adieu.  Ben decided to let her go this evening on a two-on-one date with himself and Emily.

If you watched, you saw what happened.  And I don’t know about you, but I thought it was kind of mean to lead Olivia on by bringing the rose with them when he took her away from Emily to a private spot at the end of the two-on-one date.  What’s a girl to think except that he’s going to actually GIVE her the rose?!  Hmmm… well, he didn’t.  He dumped her instead.  The poor girl, she had just told him that she was in love with him.  He left her standing there holding back her sobs in the middle of some jagged rocks with the ocean storming in the background and walked away back to a very unattractively-gloating Emily.  😦

Another piece of business I want to get to, those people on facebook who are going around “revealing” the ending of the season.  Not cool.  I have decided to ignore them, and I am glad that I did for they were all saying that it was Lauren H. who he ended up with, which made no sense since those two have barely even made eye contact on the show.  Tonight that suspicion was confirmed as he sent her home and they both acted like strangers when they parted.

The third girl to get sacked was one who really deserved it.  Her name was Leah and I don’t know if we’ve even heard from her before tonight.  She knew she was on the chopping block with Ben and decided that instead of spending time letting him get to know her better, she should spend their time badmouthing the girl he seemed closest too.  Logical, I know.  Poor Lauren B. was her target, and she hadn’t done anything wrong except feel a strong connection with Ben on the group date that the other girls could unfortunately see as the pair was bobbing in the ocean close together in front of all of them.  So in the end Ben sent Leah packing, he just didn’t feel anything special for her and his gut told him she was full of shi*.  I think she could learn a lot from this, but then again, Emily did the same thing, badmouthing Olivia, and she got to stay.  Who knows what Ben is thinking…

Emily is too insecure and immature for any real relationship at this point, as she showed over the last 2 episodes.  She obsesses over other people instead of building her own real relationship.  Maybe it’s her way to avoid real situations and the possibility of getting hurt?

Ben went on his one-on-one tonight with Caila, a girl I honestly forgot was even on the show.  She seemed really shallow and fake when she was talking with him about her sincere feelings for him.  If that’s the case I hope he doesn’t end up with her.  Of course, it could just be the editing…

Ben and Becca seem to have some real chemistry, and share the same belief system it seems, a good basis for a long-term relationship like a marriage.  Maybe she’ll be his final rose?

JoJo is getting sucked into the whirlwind of it all and is feeling overwhelmed.  She is afraid she will get hurt because she likes Ben too much.  Hang in there JoJo, we all know how that feels.

That my friends concludes tonight’s after-summary of “The Bachelor!”  Stay-tuned for more insights and the scoop as the season progresses.  Post your thoughts below, I love to hear from you.  🙂

Becca, Becca, Becca, oh Whatever Will Become of Thee?

There is a lot of talk about Becca.  I’m surprised actually at how much.  I thought she handled herself really well on the final episode of “The Bachelor,” but now it’s become this major controversy in the Bachelor world!

Lots of people are asking, “Did Chris really want to be with her, but let her go anyway?”  From what I saw, I don’t think so.  He seemed pretty comfortable to end things with her, and he seemed pretty happy to be with Whitney in the end.  But, who can say for sure but he himself?  If you have his phone number, we can call him up and ask him 🙂

Becca wasn’t sure about him all-along, and thankfully she was honest with him about it.  So they both parted ways on to better and greener pastures for themselves, without each other.  Very reasonable.  Probably actually the most adult and reasonable behavior we’ve seen on the show this season!  Maybe that’s why it threw people off 🙂  I mean, no one was throwing a fit, sobbing, pointing fingers, or laughing heartily at another woman’s loss…

That’s all I wanted to say for now, add your thoughts in the comments below.

Chris and Whitney, will there be a Prenup?

The Bachelor Gossip, framed

Suzanne Coleman

So now that “The Bachelor” Chris Soules has given his final rose to Whitney with the funny voice, what’s next?  Will they live happily-ever-after like a few of the prior “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” survivors?  Or will their relationship degrade into something hostile and nasty, like so many others?

It’s hard to say.  After watching the final show which I blogged about live (see it here: https://sliceiconic.com/2015/03/09/the-bachelor-makes-his-final-pick-or-does-he/ ), I started to wonder.

Whitney was just too “perfect;” it bugged me.  Everything she said was mushy and over the top, they just kept showing her saying how she was totally in love with Chris, over and over, and over again.  I wonder if he actually knows much of anything more about her?  Well, love isn’t necessarily in the details, now is it?  But for a long-lasting relationship, doesn’t there have to be more than attraction and being in close-proximity to your partner?

With these reality TV shows it is so hard to know the difference between what is truly real, and what the producers want us to think is real.  There is so much discussion over this very thing!

I was wondering if they will draw up a prenup if they do go forward and get married.  What do you think they will or should do?  I mean, here is a guy who I have heard is a millionaire, and a girl who goes for it to land him.  Is it real?  Is this worth betting half of (or more if they have kids!) your net worth now and for the rest of your life on?  Tough call.

I guess they could both be in it for the money though.  He got a big TV show deal just recently to be on “Dancing with the Stars” and she could be very rich very quickly at the rate they’re going if she divorces him and they don’t have a prenup.  I know, it’s not very romantic, but it is very realistic.  Most of the people who are willing to go on a televised show like this are more interested in the publicity and what they can get out of it career and money-wise than in actually finding a real, solid relationship.

What do you guys think?  Is anyone else wondering the same thing?  Let me know  in the comments

“Amazing Race,” crazy twist, and more on “That Voice!”

Suzanne Coleman

So all of you guys who have been keeping up with my “Bachelor Gossip” posts (and you know who you are 🙂 ) have probably already read my post on Whitney’s voice.  If you haven’t, you can read it here:

So now, there is another girl to add into the discussion!  On this night’s premiere of “The Amazing Race,” one of the girls on a blind date FOR THE ENTIRE RACE! (awesome idea btw directors) is Hayley, a very (bleached) blond girl who is also a nurse.  Right away when she talks you can hear that she speaks in a very high-pitched voice, just like Whitney on “The Bachelor” does.  If you watch Hayley’s interview on cbs.com you can hear that her voice is not always up that high though.  For her, it’s hard to say, but I think it might be some of the same issues as for Whitney (the “little girl voice”), but I think anxiety might be a bigger factor because she goes in and out of the high voice while she’s being interviewed.  I can understand that, I mean, she IS being filmed to be watched by millions of people… yikes!  I have to say, that is pretty darn brave.

When they started racing, and her and her partner disagreed on which way to go, I loved it when she was right and her partner was wrong!  LOL in your face, boy! 🙂  I’m starting to like her…

So back to this season’s premiere of “The Amazing Race,” what a crazy idea to put together two total strangers for a how many months-long race around the world?  Crazy!  High stress but also what an amazing (ha!) opportunity, don’t you think?  I can’t wait to see what happens with all of these pairs this season.  It will be very interesting and I applaud the show for coming up with a truly new idea to freshen up not only reality shows but this one in particular that of late has not been keeping my interest.

I am going to call this “the love season.”  Something that is long overdue 🙂
